BL2F at biofuel and biomass events

The BL2F partners have been busy! Check out the events we have been to recently.

Vaibhav Agrawal and Babak Arjmand from TAU and Maximilian Wörner from KIT attended events related to biofuel, biomass and alternative fuels: the HeattoFuel final conference, tcbiomass 2022, EUBCE 2022 and the IEA task 34 workshop.

At the EUBCE, the partners presented a poster, paper and presentations.

Results from the analysis of the HTL products received from SINTEF were presented in our poster.  The participants engaged in fruitful discussions and were interested in knowing about the salt recovery from HTL of black liquor, biocrude treatment and different methods of salt separation.

During the HeattoFuel conference Vaibhav Agrawal represented the project and presented “Biofuel Co-production at Pulp Mill by Novel HTL Technology” in the beautiful location of Vienna.

At the IEA task 34 workshop, Vaibhav Agrawal was on site to present a presentation on Hydrothermal Liquefaction: BL2F and other recent developments” to participants working on different aspects of biofuel technology.

Maximilian Wörner from KIT had the opportunity to attend the tcbiomass conference at the Mariott Brown Palace Hotel and Spa in Denver, Colorado. The focus was on thermochemical conversion of biomass and municipal solid waste (MSW) into various products such as liquid fuels or renewable natural gas (RNG). Universities and research institutes as well as representatives from industry and government presented their research results and innovations during keynote speeches, presentations, and poster sessions.

I contributed to this with the results on the work on the behavior of sulfur-containing salts during hydrothermal liquefaction of black liquor. Very interesting and lively discussions took place. All in all, it was a successful conference, which made it possible to take a closer look at research work from the USA in particular. Moreover, it was a great experience to witness a conference in person for the first time.
